About

For decades, Stanley-Jensen Stadium has been the heart of athletics in Prattville, Alabama. Owned by the City of Prattville, it serves as the home field for the Prattville High School Lions, while also hosting Prattville Junior High athletics, youth football, soccer, graduations, community events, and regional competitions. The stadium has long been recognized as one of Alabama's premier municipal high school athletic venues. During the rise of Prattville football under legendary coach J.B. Pennington, Stanley-Jensen became one of the toughest places to play in the state. From the late 1990s through the 2010s, the Lions built a statewide reputation, winning multiple region championships and capturing the 2006 AHSAA Class 6A State Championship, with countless playoff games played under the stadium lights. A New Era Recognizing the importance of the facility to both the school and the city, Prattville approved a major renovation project in 2023. Originally budgeted around $17 million, the final project totaled approximately $19.3 million, completely transforming the venue while preserving its tradition. The renovation included: Brand-new home grandstands Modern home and visitor locker rooms Expanded concession areas New restrooms Premium hospitality spaces Updated press facilities Large HD video board Improved stadium entrances Enhanced accessibility Modern lighting and infrastructure The renovated stadium officially reopened in May 2025, immediately becoming one of the finest high school football facilities in Alabama. Today, the stadium seats roughly 10,000 spectators, making it one of the larger high school venues in the state. It continues to host not only Prattville football, but soccer, graduation ceremonies, youth athletics, and community events throughout the year.
